The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Belarus shot up by 86% in 2017 to stand at $ 97.4 million, the Egyptian trade and industry minister said.
Qabil said in a statement on Sunday that the fifth session of the Egyptian-Belarus
committee for economic, scientific and technical cooperation will convene in Cairo in the last quarter
will take up joint ventures in the fields of economy, trade, investment,
industry, water resources, education and scientific research, the minister said
during a meeting with Belarus
Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Rachkov.
Qabil discussed with Rachkov means of fostering
economic cooperation between Cairo and Minsk in various domains.
Qabil underlined the importance of activating the role
of the Egyptian-Belarus Business Council to further bilateral cooperation in
the trade and investment scores in the coming period.
He said the minister restructured its side at the
council to serve this end, noting that Belarus
is a key trade partner to Egypt.

Meanwhile, the diplomat underlined his country's
keenness on furthering economic cooperation with Egypt in various domains.
He noted that his country backs negotiations on
establishing a free trade zone between Egypt
and the Eurasian Union states, including Russia,
Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia
He added that coordination is underway to boost bilateral cooperation.
