Nauru came at the top of the
world's most obese countries with the number of obese people representing 45% of
its population, according to an info graph wired by Russia Today website on Friday.
Kuwait came in the second position with obese people representing 42% of its population, Saudi Arabia ranked no 3 at 35%, Belize came in the fourth position at 34% and Egypt in the fifth position at 34%.
The UAE came in the sixth position at 33% and South Africa in the seventh position at the same percentage.
Mexico and the US came in the tail of the 10-strong list at 32% and 31% respectively.
In view of the dangers of obesity, the World Obesity Day on October 11 was launched in 2015 to stimulate and support practical solutions to help people achieve and maintain a healthy weight, and to reverse the obesity crisis. The aim is to increase awareness, encourage advocacy, improve policies, and share experiences.
