Egypt's Financial Supervisory Authority Chairman Mohamed Omran announced the authority's launch of the first e-platform for exchanging data with insurance companies and clients.
In a statement on Sunday, he said the e-platform will be the first step towards having a comprehensive database of various insurance activities.
He noted that more ambitious development plans will be carried out in this sector that should play a pivotal role in economy.
Meanwhile, the authority's Deputy Chairman Reda Abdel-Mo'ti said the authority cooperated with the Insurance Federation of Egypt to launch the e-platform.
He said this goes in line with the authority's policy to activate legislations for protecting the rights of insurance companies' clients as well as protecting insurance companies from swindlers.
