During the 44th meeting of the UNWTO Regional Conference in Egypt's Sharm El-Sheikh, he said the tourism sector created bout 5.5 million jobs in the Middle East.

He called for adopting
a unified strategy for developing the tourism sector, calling on the UNWTO to continue supporting the Middle East,
especially through launching more initiatives and projects that would promote
the tourism sector.
He said the Middle East region has distinguished tourism potentials
that qualify it to be one of the best world tourism destinations.
