The Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) is moving ahead to launch an African TV channel to highlight African issues.
During a meeting with Arabic-speaking African mediamen on Monday, SCMR Secretary General Ahmed Selim said Arab and African mediamen will work at the channel.
He underscored the importance of bolstering the African media at the international level.
He said the measure falls within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's interest in promoting ties with Africa.
The African mediamen who attended the meeting are taking part in the SCMR's 19th media training session – which is organized in tandem with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
